you should invest in a jl audio slot ported subwoofer, the enclosure is second to none.
Rofl! DaFuq is this?

What do you mean ill be over powering it? Like how does size of box have anything to do with the electrical side of powering the sub? Like maybe having more hair would be less resistance on the cone but it wouldn't make that big of a different would it???? (And just put the box in my trunk and it barely fits lol. )make to big of a box though, and youll be overpowering the sub at 1k.
It's mechanical power handling that is affected by the box size and tuning. A modeling program can show these tradeoffs the best. Basically the air pressure in the box acts as a brake. Bigger boxes have less pressure and so less control of the sub. What do you mean ill be over powering it? Like how does size of box have anything to do with the electrical side of powering the sub? Thats the issue Im going through right now. I think I went 1/2 to big so Im adding a block and see if it helps. It's mechanical power handling that is affected by the box size and tuning. The box in an anechoic environment is not going to peak at the tuning, but generally a few hertz higher...just depends on the sub/box combo. Now when the box is placed inside a vehicle, everything changes again. For instance, I've had boxes that were tuned at 32hz peak at 57hz in my truck because the peak is so strong up there. So in my truck I need to tune low to compensate for the gain up high, but it gives me a pretty smooth response with spl slightly dipping, but to the ear it seems pretty smooth.but anyways thats where i got the 5 to 6 hertz jump at (cabin rise?)

Box size plays a big part of a sub's power handling. In a nut shell, smaller box = more power. Oh, and to solve your problem, go buy a 36"x24" piece of 1/4" MDF from Lowes or Home Depot. It's like $6.What do you mean ill be over powering it? Like how does size of box have anything to do with the electrical side of powering the sub? i need 3/4 inch tho. then why do ppl like bigger boxes then?Box size plays a big part of a sub's power handling. In a nut shell, smaller box = more power. Oh, and to solve your problem, go buy a 36"x24" piece of 1/4" MDF from Lowes or Home Depot. It's like $6.
