Sky High Car Audio is lying about strand count?

So being the OCD person I am decided to take the time and count the individual strands of my SHCA 12 gauge wire. On their eBay it is listed as 295 Strands. Usually when you buy something you expect to get what you pay for, well this is not the case It turns out it is only 250 strands exactly. I am actually just shocked to see this from SHCA, being that their 1/0 is massive compared to others.

That is considerably lower then advertised, even if you accidentally cut off a few strands, it shouldn't be more then 20 difference. However with wire, the strand thickness is just as important as strand count. Stinger, rockford and kicker wires have very low strand count but they are decently sized also because of the thickness. Lower strand count does not make them an inferior wire. Still, i dont like it when they bloat the numbers just to make a sale though.

exactly thats why it ticked me off! I didn't even lose any strands when I stripped it. I checked it to make sure..

Well technically, it's 45 strands but no need in nitpicking. ;-)

But to be serious, that is kinda annoying. Especially since I'm a SHCA dealer. I have some of their 12 & 16 gauge wire on hand as well as some 0 & 2/0 power wire. I may count the speaker wire strands but I'm not sure I'm interested in tackling the 2/0, lol.

I wonder if they have a disclaimer somewhere that says the wire count is approximate?? Makes me wonder now....

I thought about that too, I even went on their home site and looked and nothing, but eBay goes by what the description says and its not on there that it is approximate.
