I put together a few designs in sketchup for 4-12s. Since it will be in a blowthrough there are a few angled boards which are making it hard for me to determine the overall volume and tuning. Can one of you guys help me out? I'm aiming for 8@33

then copy the direct link and insert it into your posts using the little picture icon on top remember to delete the field before inserting your link

Thanks dappa.

look familiar supergumby ???

any way just look @ model from above and use the measure tool to disect the model

like this
mm3.jpg
then find area of the squares

the triange is found by dividing that square by 2

add all areas up and multiply by your height and viola'

They're both only coming out to like 3.7 cubes per side before sub displacements or even a double baffle //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

sounds about right how tall is it ?

cuz @ 15 in tall the whole box 40"x40"x15" only = 11.5

thats just the square not counting braces, subs , or that giant azz port so 3.7 sounds about right 3.7+3.7=7.4 11.5-7.4=4.1 that is a big horn

Yeah that center section is pretty big. But when I asked Jack, the guy with the 6-15'' LV4XLs in a blowthrough, how the center section effects the tuning he said just make it bigger than the port (which in my case is 9'') and it shouldn't effect it.

no it should be fine how much air do your subs want?

if you need more just build the box to drop in around the wheel wells rather than between them should add bout 2 cubes total one each side that'll put you over 9 cubes total w/o changing your port and horn ratios

I like your thinking man but my truck is a stepside so the wheel wells aren't that big inside the bed. It wouldn't add a ton of space but a little is better than none.

And jblcamry gave me a tip on sketchup to find the volume. All you do is:

1) draw a line across the port on the face of the box to seal off the space you want to find the volume for

2) select the pointer tool

3) click the area so it's highlighted

4) right click and select area-selection

5) take that number and multiply by 144

6) mulitply that number by the height of the inside of your box

7) divide that number by 1728
