So I'm planning on getting a couple 12" Orion HPs.. Well I decided I was going to try and make a design for it this time... well I did.. but I don't know the tuning formula and I would like to know if this plan would work fine.. so basically my question is what is it tuned to and will it work fine.. and are my calculations right.

External Dimensions:

Width - 36"

Depth - 20"

Height - 16"

Its double baffled to help the flexing effect... I haven't taken out port displacement but I did take out my subwoofers displacement and it comes out to be 4.94 cu ft...

its not marked but the port goes back 14 1/4".... so what would it be tuned to?

How can you design a box around an aribtrary port length? Shouldnt that be on the MAIN things to consider when designing a box since that is an integral part of said design?

at 14.25 you are definitely tuned above 40hz. 16 tunes you to 40.

you're at about 46hz the way you have it, 2.2cubes/sub

fyi, by my calculations it would take 24.75" length to get you to 40hz and leaves you with just under 2cubes/sub

thanks guys!! can anyone maybe come up with a design for me 2 cubes per sub... tuned at 37hz... displacement on each sub is .096 cu ft... max dimensions are 37 width, 18 height, 22 depth... would greatly appreciate it fellas... i sort of want the same kind of design if possible.. or just come up with one that you think looks good //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif seriously guys i would great appreciate it..

If you're going to do a center port like that, then the width across the back wall needs to be 1/2 of the main port width i.e. 2.5", not 5"
