Skar Amp in Protect mode

I recently bought a Skar RP.150.4 4 channel amp and 4 skar FSK65 speakers for a good price of $100 because he said the speakers were too loud for him and he only used them twice. Anways i installed the speakers and amp yesterday and when i turn my truck on the amp is already in protect mode right off the bat. No sound comes out of my speakers. So i brought my truck to my local audio guy to check it out and we tested everything on the amp. The ground and power are getting 14.4 volts. the ground and remote wire is getting 12 volts. We unplugged the RCA cables and it was still in protect mode and we even tested the speaker wires for the 4 speakers and all of them had good power. I unhooked everything from the amp in order to see if it would reset and nothing happened when i plugged everything back in. I even re-did my ground with hope it was that but it wasnt. So my question for yall is do yall think the amp was blown from the start and i got scammed by my buddy? or should i get someone else to test the amp?

Yes, it was very likely blown from the start.

Depends what your budget is but I’d go SSA all day. There are tons more options. They may not be 150x4 at 4ohm but you probably don’t need that much power either.

How old is the amp...if its still under warranty tell your buddy to send it back for a new one

D4s amps are the skar replacement. They are Korean built and priced reasonably.
