man..you just got me so confused now...A firewall grommet shouldn't protect it. You do need something there though, because the metal in the firewall will cut right through the insulation and touch the power. Which means that negative (the firewall) will be touching positive (your wire), which is where the picture of the burnt car comes into existence.
Hes going to cut another hole in his grommet. Not a slit where did u get SLIT? and its like a 16gauge wire come on lolA firewall grommet in a slit? A circular object can not be forced into a wedge and be expected to stay like that.
yes. I've drilled a striaght hole with a drill bit for my alarm wires with no grommets nothing and never had any problems. As long as theres not any tention on the wire you will be fine.So if I use a firewall grommet wouldnt I have to drill a hole in my firewall?
Yeah I was going to cut a slit(a very small hole) into my preexisting grommet where the wires come through into the dash of the car...BUT if I buy another I would have to drill a hole as big as the grommet in my firewall wouldnt I?.Hes going to cut another hole in his grommet. Not a slit where did u get SLIT? and its like a 16gauge wire come on lol
