They still are one of the top brands on the net along with some others that may not have been around back when you were in it such as :

and some others. Mainly you see people running RE XXX's or MT's most of the time (I have an MT) but there are people around that have SX's / SE's / RE's and stuff. I recommend search the classifieds to see if anyone has an SE and PM them asking them how it was for them, why they're getting rid of it, etc.

Well the SE is a great sub, my brother has one, and it is ported, tuned to 32hz, cant remember exact box size but it is right around 2.0 cubes...and it is insane. However, they shine in ported box much more so than sealed, so bear that in mind with your space requirements. There is an IDMAX with 6 hours of playtime on it over on DIY for $200 shipped that I would take a real hard look at.

IMO the SE's were meant to be sealed. They are more of an SQ driver. Their brother, the SX, is the one that's meant to be a ported SPL mogul.

I think the SE would make a great sealed driver, will just be louder ported.
