I'm trying to plan out a small stereo system for a 1990 Nissan 240sx I just purchased. I initially was not going to install anything because I didn't want to add extra weight (the thing is nearly stripped out), but the factory 15 year old 4x6 coaxials up front with an rms rating of 7 watts is just not cutting it at all for me. Especially coming from a completely custom setup in my old car.
I'm looking for a single sub (probably 12" I guess). I was thinking about a Brahma, but I'm really not sure if that will be necessary. To give you an idea of what kind of sound I'd like - A sealed Audiomobile MASS 12" with maybe 400 watts rms was pretty good for me (I actually had 2 of them with 1200 watts rms, but never pushed them NEAR that hard). I don't like extremely loud bass that just drowns everything out, but I want something to get a fair amount louder than necessary without sounding crappy and distorted (if that makes sense). I plan on putting it in a sealed box, and I don't really want something that I'll have to put an assload of power into to get anything out of it, although I will probably ultimately be upgrading my 80 amp alternator to maybe 150 or so anyway...
Thanks in advance...
