First here is the problem. my subs are making a popping type noise as if they were bottoming out.

so i decided to add some more bass to my factory bose stereo in my 05 silverado crewcab. i bought a audiocontrol LC2i factory sound processor to hook the amp up with. i wired up my trusty OLD Phoenix Gold QX2350. its 350x1 at 4ohm. i found a used mtx thunderform box for 2 tens for behind the seat. it is a single chamber at 1.5ft3. i added two jl 10w1v2 4ohm subs wired parallel for 2ohm. gain set nearly all the way down its turned about 1/8. bass boost at 0 crossover at around 70hz. if you noticed the amp is only supposed to be stable at 4ohm bridged but ive never had an issue in the past running 2ohm bridged. a multi meter at the box terminal read 2.6ohms for the subs together. now its sounds good most of the time. but certain songs like one of the beastie boys songs will make the subs make a popping type noise like the are bottoming or something. looking at them play the really look the they are moving at full excursion and then they start making the noise. one side is more noticable.. i thought im pushing them to hard but then i started wondering if it was the single chamber box. i pulled the box from my vw. (dual 10 seperate chambers .75 per side) mounted the subs and set it on back seat of the truck. wow they sounded better and hit harder. no signs of popping. sounded nearly the same as the 10w3v2d4's that came out of the box. so now im really thinking its the single chamber box at fault. so im gonna make an underseat down fire box in the near future but im looking for a quick solution till i get the time to do that(summer time) any suggestions? the recommened sealed air space for these are .625 they sounded good in a sealed .75.
do you think reducing airspace in the box would help. (like adding a couple bricks in it wrapped up so the dont vibrate lol)
