Single capable amp needed to push 2 12" bone crushers.

1 channel per driver, 4 channel for 2 mids and 2 tweets
Well that *****.. I prefer 4 drivers in 2 channels bridged with the tweeters running off the mids... The tweeters have crossovers so no point connecting directly to amp.

how is that line of jvc?

Seems pretty similar to yours but it doesnt list the DAC they use inside.

I'm actually surprised to see another brand of head unit offering active network mode other than pioneer aka the jvc ones. Kenwood doesnt have it but jvc does.. thats wierd.[/QUOTE]

Oh gawd....why call that sucker...??

Nice to see though!

I am surprised to see another budget HUll that has network time alignment and eq alsoThe price difference is considerable...

I like both but the the option to tweak the x-over frequency and slope and volume of each individually without resistors etc...

The cross overs only alter your hp setting.. 0 -2 -4 - 6

so there are some things you do not fully understand about audio yet.

Every car is different and has different acoustics via sound waves, resonant frequencies etc... from the shape of the cabin to the materials used to build the car down to the fabric of the seat all have an affect on the vehicle acoustics.

With a passive crossover system you can only stick with one set crossover point and that crossover point may or may not work with the vehicle thats why you get mixed reviews about component speakers with some saying they are good, some saying they are bad. Its because of vehicle acoustics not matching.

Also with a crossover network you are limiting the amount of power each driver is getting by a lot because it passes through circuitry and filters causing loss in efficiency via heat so that 120 watts you are throwing to them, its more like 100.

With an active crossover network you can change the crossover point and slope so they work ideal and perfectly with your vehicle acoustics giving the best sound quality and loudness to the point where music is super loud and BUTTERY smooth and detailed. While you get even more power to your drivers being power straight up.

This is why all the audio competitors in both sound quality and super loud SPL systems go active networks. Its in EVERY way shape and form superior to junk passive crossovers where you are just stuck with whatever the manufacturer tunes it to.

Oh gawd....why call that sucker...??
Just wanted to know if the unit uses a 24 bit or 32 bit dac since crutchfield and jvc doesnt list it.

I will be giving this a go cheff... My T1500 arrived today.. I'm gona install it an with that I'm going to try you guys method aswell... My current HU has the setting you speak about aside from the 9band eq an slope thingy.

no it doesn't

It requires both a mid high pass which is anywhere from 50 to 200hz. A mid low pass which is anywhere from 500hz to 8000hz, a "High" high pass which is anywhere from 1250hz to 12,500hz.

Your alpine just has basic sub woofer and mid high pass filters, extremely basic doesnt go anywhere about 200hz and thats only for subwoofer and midrange, nothing to control upper midrange nor tweeter. compared to what we are talking about. You still have no clue what we are talking about sorry to say, most people cant absorb that concept properly and think they head unit does what we are talking about and they cant be anymore wrong. Its fine since its a hard concept to grasp for most that just assume car audio is plug and play while being completely oblivious to physics and more advanced concepts of car audio.

Im not saying for sure it does but I will be having a good look and confirming with you what it does have... In any case I'm still gona get the head unit u speak of cause it does have a much more extensive audio settings. I sent a msg to the seller to find out the DAC of that jvc.

I'm saying i'm 100% sure I even listed the crossovers you have specifically... I know more about your head unit then you do apparently. Again crutchfield has everything listed even more than the manufacturer website themselves. Sorry, i'm a head unit enthusiast. I know almost every head unit and what has what features audiowise. Not sure how a head unit of these specs would warrant a high sell price when its only weak 2 volt pre-outs.
