Single cab truck system

It looks like the polk audio db1001 for 99 dollars and the Dxi1000 for 39.99 go to 60 watts rms, it didnt look like many others went that high. are the fourty dollar ones any good?

Alpine, Infinity,Kicker,JBL,Polks,MBquart,Pioneer,ECT, Just what you think you may like, and affordable,I like the Infinity, Kicker ks 13/25,JBL.More expensive are the CDT ect.The Alphasonics are decent too.Ive ran 2sets of those before.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif, Polks are good to.

Never heard of DXi

Wow! A good set of 50rms ea tweets cost ya!!But, well worth it in the end.Kicker K20 are pretty good too.Yet, get what you like, and can afford, and you should be good.Try get a set with the crossovers if you can, they are a better tweet.Just my opinion.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

thanks alot!! im going to look for some tweeters to buy on crutchfield. then will post again once i get them with some pictures. Any sugestions on what 5.25 speaker i should go with on the rear or should i not even bother if im amping the tweets and the 6x9`s?

I would search partsexpress for component tweeters (though I don't know how you planned to cross them over)? Honestly if you have 6X9 holes in the doors, there's nothing wrong with a 6X9 coaxial if you get a decent quality.

I wouldn't touch Alpine type S anything, but type R are all solid performers for the money. As has been said JBL/Infinity is a solid product too.

Mounting a tweeter far from the midrange is really hit or miss and often hard to get to sound right without some rather advanced sound processing equipment.

I generallly don't put speakers behind me unles I have 5.1 surround since it's just un-natural for music. Use the money on better equipment elsewhere. If you find a decent 4 channel amp you can run 2 channels to fronts and 2 channels bridged to a sub for a simple solution

If i could get real good sound out of lets say a 6x9 Type R, i would rather go that route and amp them as it will save with mounting the tweeters or trying to get to those front dash speakers. If i would get MUCH better sound by keeping the type S and adding a tweeter i would do that but would love to be able to buy a good set of 6x9`s and get good sound out of them. I looked at the type R 6x9 and they were $199 is there a better speaker out there for that price or cheaper? Thanks for all the help and dealing with all my questions guys!!
