also the resone your truck gets louder with a door or window open is cabin gain. truck have POOOOOOR cabin gain. opening the door makes the sub think it has more room or cabin gain and therefor plays louder

so would porting it eliminate the cabin gain?

if you have the full bench seat you will lose no room, but the 60/40 bench with armrest is a little different

Most vehicles sound louder with the door or window open. Thats just plain and simple, it has to do with Cabin Pressure. You might be a little louder with the ported box, but you will still get louder when you open your door.
