single 15" sub opinions.....

Ok.....redoing my whole car audio. Got everything pretty much ordered except sub and amp.

I'm keeping my stock battery/alt. So I think i'm just going to go with the AQ 1200D

Now....what sub would be good to go with it? I'm looking for a SQL sub that is somewhat musical and not all over the place; muddy. But want it to pound while sounding good. I listen to every kind of music.

My budget is around 250.

My space is around 4 cu.ft. (probably gonna tune around...34-38)

Subs in my mind; HDC3 15" and RE SX 15". I'm most likely thinking of going with the HDC3....

This might be a stupid question but how much louder would these subs be compared to my old PR 12s? I'm pretty sure the AQ sub will eat them.

I've been looking around for those kind of subs. Could you include a link on where to buy them?

I've also been looking at smaller subs, such as the RE SE, Type R.

Yeah, i've been wanting to try out the SX. If I don't like it....sell it and get a HDC3, ha.

But anyone on here listen to rock music on this thing? I was gonna tune it around 35 and hit upper bass notes and not have it sound like crap.

My PRs were tuned to 29 and every rock song, it basically hummed through the whole song, it sounded bad.

I'm leaning on the HDC3 a lot, but don't want to close my options to just that.

The FI Q is a good choice to keep in mind.

Now. I haven't heard any of these subs in person and the loudest subs i've heard were my PRs. So that's why I ask how these subs would compare to them.

How high can I tune a box for the Q? If I were going with either the SX or AQ, i was going to tune it around 35-38. I listen to a lot of rock. But also want it kinda boomy for rap.
