simple system install on SC400 help?

hey guys/females (if there are any) my names Eric Im new to the forum and I have a 92' Sc400 which im trying to install a simple system ugrade over the stock subwoofer.

I have a kenwood hu that came with the car when i bought, 1200w 4ohm subwoofer (brand unknown) and a kenwood 4channel bridgable 1000w amp.

My problem is that i had it all installed by a friend but he left the wires everywhere so i ripped it all out and tried to re install it more neatly but burned out one amp and went through a bunch of fuses (give me a break it was my first time audio install). ebverything is installed and working but i have a huge lack of bass and yes i toyed with the settings but no improvement.

my guess is the way i wired up the amp? I have both the positive and remote running off the radio and my negative grounded in the trunk.

which brings me to these questions?

*Could that cause my of bass?

*does anyone know how to run that thick *** cable through the firewall?

any help is greatly appreciated,

Eric

holy fail. Its amazing you didn't set your car on fire.

Go to walmart and buy a wiring kit, it should at least get you going. Run 4 gauge wire thru the firewall (just find a hole or make one, or move a grommet boot out of the way) and run the wire from your battery to the amp.
