Simple/stupid question about wiring front speakers.

I'm about to amp my front speakers, and had a few simple questions before I start taking off my door panels.

1-Whats the best way to do this? I plan on running new speaker wire from my amp to my speakers. I also want to leave the stock wiring in the door incase I sell the car (I also kept the stock speakers). Should I just cut the wires between the truck harness / aftermarket harness, or the aftermarket harness/HU harness, or just leave everything in place. (Running a 9886, so can turn off internal amplification if that makes a difference....)

2-I have a 1-4g -> 4-8g power distributor, but I am only using 2 of the outputs. Is this doable, or should I try and find another power distributor?

3-I'm installing an alpine m-650 and a alpine f450. Will my 1996 Toyota T100 be able to handle it with a stock everything in terms of electrical/big 3? I'm assuming it will, but someone mentioned the PDX series might be less of a load on the truck.

4-I'm getting a 4 ch amp so I can easily add a component set in the future, but for now bridging the 2 channels would probably be too much power. Do I need to *turn off* 2 of the channels on a 4 channel amp, or simply wire the fronts to the first 2 channels and leave everything else.

5- Can both amps be grounded to the same location?

Thanks,

1. You could leave everything the way it is, and then just run new wires from the front amp into the doors. Just do something on the end of the wires so they wont ground out. Electrical tape, crimp connector, whatever.

2. Yes

3. You should be alright, depending on how good your stock alt is. Not sure if youve done the Big 3, but you should

4. Its called bridging. Its usually marked on the amp where the bridge outlets are, but you only use 2 of the 4 terminals.

5. Yes

Thanks for the quick replies. My concern with question #1 was that if I didn't crimp them, they'd still be sending a signal down the wire, but if taping the ends work, I'll do that. Also means I can still power my rears off the deck.

Also, I didn't want to bridge the 4 channel amp because I think it'd be far too much power to send to my entry level coaxials (upgrading to comps in the near future). So for the mean time, just run them off the front 2 channels, and leave the rears empty? It's a real pain getting access to my rear speakers, I have it faded way to the front, and they are stock speakers anyways, so I'm not interested in powering those.
