simple question

Am I headed in the right direction here or not?.......I am seeking reassurance and/or consructive criticism on my setup which is: 1241D type R's (wired 2 ohm)being pushed by alpine mrd-m500's w/ RF digi caps, w/ 1/0 wiring to fused dist. block w/ 2 4 gauges coming out to amps, opti yella'top, stock 100amp alt., oh and a prefab dual 1 cube mdf sealed, alpine 9815 HU. Let me know what's up.

sounds pretty good... just make sure the fuses in the distro block are no more than the 2 amps combined require... to much amperage fused can lead to amp probs... also, i like the idea of the optima yellow top but shy i away from that stock alt... hwnever you run a 2 amp system, even if you have 2 caps, it is going to disrupt your electrical system (i.e. dimmage of headlights, domelight, slow power window response, etc..) get that alt to around 180-200 to ensure your electrical system is strong enough.. however, if you are running under 1000 rms through BOTH amps you might get away with rewinding your alt at an alt/battery shop.. it could add up to 30A on your original alt, which is considerably cheaper... anything more than 1000rms, time to switch!
