Simple Fi question, couldn't find an answer

I don't know why I'm asking this, I guess just because I've been out of the loop for awhile and got confused when I heard a few suspected newbs' comments over the last couple weeks.

Anyway what I'm wondering is about the impedances on Fi's subs....the Q and SSD in particular. I notice the dual 2's re is either 1.4 or 1.5 ohms/coil.

If I have a 1 ohm monoblock amp, as I do, I can get the dual 2 model and be safe right? I used to have an SX 15 dual 2 and the amp rean very well with it in parallel, stayed fairly cool too.

I had just heard some comments and I'm not sure how reputable they were about the impedance's being too low....so I figured I'd ask openly here....thanks guys.

if you order dual two and wire to to 1 ohm youll be fine thats what mine is
They're not EXACTLY dual 2 ohm. Don't you read? If they're 1.4, wired in parallel will give you .7, 1.5 in parallel will give you .75. You will probably be fine, but I've seen amps crap out in the same situation. Impedance rise can be your friend in situations similar to this.

Copied from a post of mine in a different thread...

You don't understand.

Nominal resistance, the minimum resistance your amp will see most of the time. Expecially after rise, it's almost higher than this all the time.

DCR (direct current resistance). This is the actual resistance at rest, when the coil is cold. Usually hover around this when measure with a DMM at rest.

Nominal impedance is all you should ever worry about.

You have a Dual2ohm subwoofer, wire it in parallel. Perfect match for the Hifonics amplifier, presenting it with a 1ohm load.

Thanks for clearing things up ngsm...I was going to specify "Do not post if you are not totally sure" but I didn't wanna be a dick...I've been doing this for years and it's like I thought, some noob-chatter is what confused me in the first place. Thanks again.

Lol. No problem.
