Is the SIA 1750 amp too much for a Sundown Sa-10. v2 D4 wired at 4ohms. The amp puts out 1250w rms at 4ohms and the D4 is rated at 1000w rms so I was wondering if I should go with the SIA 1250 or the SIA 1750.
Either amp will be fine. Just get your sub in a properly tuned enclosure and the correct type of enclosure for the vehicle and tune properly and you should be fineIs the SIA 1750 amp too much for a Sundown Sa-10. v2 D4 wired at 4ohms. You could wire it to 1ohm and just use ohms law to set the amp to 1000w
V(ac)=√(watt×ohm)
31.6v=√(1000×1)
Take a multimeter set to ac voltage and turn the gain up till you see 31-32v on the multimeter.
Use a 40hz test tone with no sub hooked up
Set it then hook the subs up. You now have nearly 1kw of dynamic headroom
