DJL told me if you tuned the box @ 33-36 it will still play down into the 20hz range w/ authority.

very tempting, i want a pair of 12's.

mine is tuned to 35hz and it plays 17hz test tone just fine

What about DD 9500?? How does it compare to the SI Mag??

9500's are loud... but IMO, the SI, along with a bunch of woofers.. walks it in the listenability department, especially at high output levels...

I've only heard 1 9500 install sound good to the ear.. and a bunch that didn't...

while it is possible to make it happen.. its much easier to make it happen with other drivers..

My pick would go to the SI hands down.

Much more LINEAR displacement, great subwoofer all around in every category.

i really want to hear a mag but everyone where i live only has sony and kicker. but soon enough ill hear a AQ and ill right a good review on it. i wish a had the money id buy a mag and compare them.

if space is a concern.. a pair of SI 12's play nearly flat from 28-44hz, and a -3db around 22hz in just over 4 cuft ported
that's with a 20.1 playing all she's worth

how much power does the 20.1 put out on those Mags? and you have them in a 4= cuft box"? is the box dual ported? I have a couple of Mags and I have 2400 watts to feed them, do you have the outside meas.of the enclosure will be helpful to me

AQ will be much cheaper if you buy new. but if you are looking for sql i don't think much can beat a mag except maybe a W7.

12" SI MAG > 12W7 w/o a doubt. I've had both and I much perfer the MAG.

i jsut came across this thread, and i own a pair of dd subs and have been exposed to many thoughout the years in spl competitions

i would take the si for a couple reasons

1 it doesnt take a month to get your drivers ( u can order one and have it to ya in a few days )

2 its a small company so your supporting a couple individuals that truely believe in the business

3 the owner of si is a good guy and is pretty cool to hang with

4 si's sound alot better than any of the aq/dd subs ive heard

i took them less than two weeks to build my hd 12 and he called me up and told me its on its way and i received prompt emails from dj the whole time, i email si to ask how much a mag would be and never got a reply
