we just got everything finished and ben is now headed home.

and today was definitely an interesting day.

also before anyone asks, it did not take us near this long to actually get it done.

a fair chunk of the day was wasted waiting around for one thing or another and driving around.

But damn, those subs get freaking loud.

with the gain very low and they still pretty stiff it may be the loudest non spl oriented install i have heard.

but i think it is a close tie between this and the 18" XXX in quakerroatmeal's car.

i don't have any pics because i didnt feel like taking any.

but ben took several and will probably post sometime today.

i have one thing to say, i can die a happy person if i never have to build a box in someone's trunk ever again.

but the worst part was trying to carpet it... inside the car after being built...

and it turned out kind of crappy because i am teh ****.

well i am going to pass out now.

None of these pictures illustrate quite how much of a huge pain in the *** it is working with the box inside the trunk. Not including the battery incident(s).

Next step is finishing the carpet then sealing off the trunk. I think I'm going to get some kind of rubber/plastic trim to put on the corners of the box to hide where the carpet meets. Dunno how I'm going to seal the trunk yet, but ~Magick_Man~ had some good ideas.

Oh I can't forget to mention that jntar was there giving emotional support the whole time. He even stuck it out until 2am so he could hear the setup running. What a trooper.
