Yea remember me.... the guy that could'nt keep his kids from smoking his stuff. Turn the HU down or it will clip is all I heard. So I scoped it and sure enough at Volume 31 of 35 it clipped. and at 33 is was horrible. So what to do.

Thats when I found it. Out of the blue it came from the Manual.

VOLUME OFFSET - 0 to -8 ------

At -6 there is no clipping at max volume.

Does Kenwood offer 3 or 4 day onsite training classes?

Just set your gains at like 25 or 28 and be done. I didnt like the volume offset feature.

I here you. for me that is best. Usually running around 27 to 29 but of course that depends on the song and the recording level but it gives me a real good feeling that I can set the Volume offset at -8 and give the truck to my kids without stressing my equipment.

And no they will never figure out how to change it.
