SI Mag 15" x 2 - 9 cubes in Camry trunk - project psuedo-log w/ *PICS*

I decided to make a log for my new project. Right now I only have some initial pics to work with because I haven't really started it yet. I only just ordered the subs.

So I'm going to be getting a 9ft^3 box made in the trunk of my 96 Camry sedan for my two SI Mag 15s. The box will be tuned to about 29hz with 90in of port area and 36" length. Subs and port will be firing forward into the cabin and the front baffle will be sealed off from the rest of the trunk. My rear seats will be folded down as long as noone is riding back there (obviously).

The box I will have made is the absolute biggest dimensions that will fit in the trunk and still be a perfect rectangle. It doesn't fit through the lid so it will need to be built inside the trunk. ~Magick Man~ will be making the box for me, I'll be going up for a day so he can work on it once my subs arrive. Box is going to be 44" wide by 26" deep by 17" tall. I'm going to try to have it made of birch ply if I can find it on the cheap.

Anywho here are some pictures to start off... I'll update and stuff when I get more to work with.

Here is my trunk with all the equipment pushed towards the cabin...

Here is my life sized box mock-up, ain't it pretty:

And it's good!, never mind that I had to stuff it in there.

Here is what I'm replacing:

Questions? Comments? Profound statements?

in-trunk build. Gonna be tough, but Joseph knows cool tricks so it should be nothing for him. This is probably his biggest box he's built, one he built for me was only 6.5cuft or so after displacement. Goodluck, have fun! What day are u coming maybe I can come by and help/look.

Let's see here.

To clarify, I am running the following:

Iraggi 110/200 amp alternator (just installed, will get picks up tomorrow maybe)

Optima Yellowtop

Kinetik HC2000 (this will go in the rear left of the trunk, behind the wheel well)

Sundown 1500 and Kicker SX900.4 will be mounted on top of the box

I've pretty much decided on using birch ply for the weight, but I have to consult with ~Magick_Man~ because I hear it is harder to work with.

As for subs firing back, yes my setup is currently louder that way as well, but with this one they will be firing forward and sealed off from the trunk so it should be even better.

Right now the plan is to build next Wednesday but that is assuming I get the subs by then, they were supposed to ship today but haven't gotten a tracking # yet. You're definitely welcome to help/look/listen if you are available that day, as far as I'm concerned. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Quick question...

How important are the bars attached to the trunk hatch that go from one side to the other? I'm thinking about cutting them off, they get in the way.
