I got my Escape gutted and Im still dynamatting, but will be starting to run wires and cables and what not. Should I run a thicker than factory +12vdc wire to the head unit? If so what gauge would it need? I would think 15amp is the most it would draw and that requires a 14ga wire, maybe go 12ga for funsies? Will it help anything? What about running a dedicated ground as well? Should I run a dedicated ground to my amp or is grounding to the seat bolt fine? The amp is 900w rms total on 5 channels.

factory stereos dont put out that much power. if the harness was made for that radio there shouldnt be any problems. even if it was an aftermarket youd be hard pressed to find one that draws more than 15A. and if you are using rca's instead of high level that power draw will be alot less. I wouldnt worry about it, save your oversized wiring for your actual amp.
