so i went to a friends house to have a few choice beverages and clean my guns. well turns out that the 9mm pistol i took was a favorite to one of those long time friends that i dont get to see to often. somewhere in the night, while him holding the gun and explaining to me that he also wanted one, the gun was loaded (put a bullet in the chamber) without me knowing.
normally i would have checked the gun for being loaded as soon as it was handed to me. but in this case, it was a close friend and his word was taken. but, i should have checked anyway. several sayings can walk hand and hand with this. "better safe than sorry". "you can never be too careful". well, turns out, despite the miscommunication from myself and said friend, as soon as the gun was passed to me, a bullet passed through my leg. with the confusion that followed ( a loud bang in your face/ears tends to do this) we were not sure how the trigger got pulled. i'm certain of a few things however:
1) i should have checked the gun
2) i shouldnt have had the clip near, around the gun and passing it to my friends
3) i now have to face some stupid criminal charge...
4) it could happen to anybody. please be careful with your firearms... i never thought this could happen to me previous to this. i was usually to careful for it.
5) even though you might trust somebody with your life (or your leg) accidents can still happen...
i dunno, just felt like sharing my experience with you all
