Shop owners/employees?

what I have done in the past and still do, is find a shop that will install equipment you bought online, an honest shop knows how much his product is being sold online and should price it competitively, then you have shops that want to profit too much on the product and then hit you again profit wise on the install.

I use a shop that is competitive in online pricing and fair in pricing install and i have used that shop for over 7 years now. they are a little bit expensive than online but we are talkign about less than 10-15 bucks difference. I drive more than an hour to go to this shop.

come to my shop, ask for discount....get shanked in the liver //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
Lol yer silly...

It's not literal, its not like I say hey I want this what's my discount lol. There is an art to getting a deal...

For me now that's going, "What's cost on this?" I add 10% and know that's my price //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/graduate.gif.d982460be9f153bb54e5d4cb744f6ae8.gif Oh the advantages of being a good customer.

here is what you dont realize ,if you buy on line and get a really good deal on lets say a sub , that sub can and prolly will be old stock ,maybe even 1-2 years old ,yes you get a warranty ,but from the seller not the manufacturer .so lets say 3 months later the subs surround comes apart .if you send it back to the seller [online ebay dealer] they may not have said sub in stock any more , so what happens now is you either get an inferior sub or you spend more for an upgrade .same with amps.some other companies buy in bulk and can offer good prices too.but most good online dealer prices aren't as good as you may think .its a gamble sometimes .you may get a great deal ,but is it gonna last and what kind of warranty do you have if something goes bad .all shops have overhead ,rent ,utilities, employees and so forth ,hence the mark up.we as dealers dont make as much as you may think .

i'm just saying that some shops will work with the prices ,but dont expect much they have bills to pay too,the ones that will give you a screaming deal your first time in ,prolly shouldn't be in business anyway .

Don't come to my shop with that mindset. If you are not a repeat client or spending a good amount of money, we won't bother with offering a discount. There is no art form in being cheap. There is also no possible way for to work myself or anyone here into it. We have heard it all...literally.

you have to do your research on prices, pretty much what this boils down to.
Yes, but at the same time the odds of going to shop and paying online prices are very very low. Going into a shop expecting a discount will normally get you higher pricing when it is all said and done at most shops.

Business ethics do not just pertain to the shop, clients should have a level of ethics as well. Maybe I have been blessed for the past 10-12 years or so.

How so? You asking how much you should ask for wheb you have done nothing to reciece anything. I guess it comes down to what values were put upon you when you were raised.
Lol...

I am not just walking it saying hey give me a discount or I walk let's not be silly...

And what do values and how a person being raised have anything to do with it?

Do you pay absolute retail for everything you buy? Did you not try to get a better deal on your car your house your furniture your mattress ect.? The same principals apply. Actually I do know people who just can't barter or even ask questions and would rather just pay sticker...

Do you barter when you go to Walmart or at a restaurant? You suggestion of compairing is off by a long shot. If you are not sure on values and how they apply, well I'm sorry for you.

As everyone has told, you are wasting everyones time at a shop going shopping like your baying only ask to pay less. What I have done in the past was lower the sale price and raise labor cost so it equals out. Bottom line is, you should what you are trying to have given to you. I understand todays youth is much different but really is it that bad, my daughter knows better then that.

Who said anything about paying online prices or expecting discount? Not me...

I get it though maybe you have been burned by fools wasting your time or being unreasonable not know how to play the game...
