Nice sub. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I'm thinking of building a new enclosure for mine, too.

Yeah, I got the one built for Spooney by Hispl... had to get a second one to go with it.. So now i'm trying to see what way to go.. so far all my single boxes i've done has came out great. Just trying to get any input from some of the box guru's or anyoen that knows more than me on this..

hispls is, obviously, more of an spl guy. I'm pretty sure he builds with the intent of them going in an enclosure tuned in the mid to upper thirties. He suggested 38 hertz to me. I'm pretty happy with how low mine digs, so I'm glad I didn't tune that high. But, sometimes I wonder how much louder it would be, Lol.

Yeah, the box I built for the single was tuned around 34hz. digs down to around 28hz pretty good and hits up to the 40hz's decently... My car just has a very low peak zone.. around 28 and 36... stupid impala's lol.. had a 4th order tuned in the 40's and another tuned to 32 and they both couldn't get over 45hz without sounding like poo... but anything from 24-40hz murdered..

wow blast from the past a shocker and a d2 ?
i say box 3
Yup Yup... Custom Built Super Shocker Extreme on a D2... when I start doing the box tomorrow, I'll be posting up pics in my build log.. Might shoot some pics of the subs tonight and post up..

I had hispls build the sub to play music and sound pretty **** good doing it. It isn't made as an spl driver at all although it did get fairly loud. It's an awesome daily sub. For what it's worth Wade I had the shocker in 1.8 tuned to 32hz with a 4 inch aero and it got pretty low while still retaining some of the higher notes which most subs don't do all that well on in our impalas. I bet you could bring the tuning up a bit and still smash the lows and get a little more authority in the 45-60 hz range.

Ya im sure I can bring it up to 36 and still get some killer sound out of it... I'm going to do a few more designs and see what I come up with then start building..

Okay... after jacking around on Bassbox again... I came up with around 3.6ish net with a 36hz tuning..

Will more than likely start cutting everything in the morning and building..

This will be going in an Impala... sub / port back "facing the trunk opening" I thought about Sub/Port up and blowing through the rear deck.. but that means I have to change the Height/Depth of the box.. and ehh... Not having an 18" Depth box X 14.5" tall

I love mine to death, man. Here's the specs on my particular model.

* f(s)= 32.30 Hz

* R(e)= 0.83 Ohms

* Z(max)= 16.12 Ohms

* Q(ms)= 9.635

* Q(es)= 0.524

* Q(ts)= 0.497

* V(as)= 98.150 liters (3.466 cubic feet)

* L(e)= 1.62 mH

* n(0)= 0.60 %

* SPL= 89.89 1W/1m

* M(ms)= 342.70 grams

* C(ms)= 0.07 mm/N

* BL= 10.50

Maybe something in there can tell you why he suggested higher tuning? Maybe it's just his personal preference. Idk, but it sounds good to me.
