Shipping cost on subs... why so high?

There's a place in NY called TransBorder; They handle customs-type junk so you get your shipments faster. TransBorder? TransWorks? Something like that.

it would have taken 2.5 months if using ground to Can? dude, thats histerical. I don;t even think thats even true...

I didnt think that was possible either, but I knew mike is honest, this was the part of the email:

Express Mail (1 week delivery) for $105 (US $304 total)Airmail (2 week delivery) for $60 (US $259 total)

Surface (10 week delivery) for $38 (US $237 total)

I figured 22 extra bucks to shave off 2 months.. hahaha

well, i,ve always went the cheapest way with USPS when shipping from U.S to canada. even from places like California and Texas to eastern canada, it NEVER takes the 4-6 weks ground/surface (the cheapest usps has to offer)!! i think they just put that either to scare you to buy the more expensive shiiping option OR its just a safe estimate in case somehow it EVER did go that long. but IN MY EXPERIENCE, it has been 3 weeks or less. geezz. ups took the same amount of time and costs so much more! maybe its my area, but i dont live in hte sticks. i suppose all my items were with ebay, so if the person is fast , you get it fast! but if its a company, then sometimes they make you wait until their order goes out all at once. so Ape, you probably wasted 22$. but thats not business. good look with the sub(s)!

p.s- if they quote you high, give them the usps website and Prove to them its not that much. of course, some charge a little extra for their time, packaging etc.

I haven't read all of this thread, but good subs weigh a considerable amount. Shipping something that weighs +/- 30 lbs across the country costs quite a few American dollars. Shipping one of my 12's to the next state costs ~ $20. Across the nation costs well over $30.
