This is a tough one since I'm a DD and JL nuthugger. If I do the DD I'll match it with DD amps and front stage, same for the JL. Both will be ran off a MS-8. The DD will be Germans the JL will be C5s. Jl will be XD amps DD will be the M45 and matching 4 channel.

I'm a DD fan and dealer but I haven't heard the SL's but I have installed the JL TW5 series shallows (I know you are asking about the TW3's) for a customer and I have to admit, those dang things impressed the hell out of me! So if the 3's are anything like the 5's you won't be disappointed and if the SL's are like any of the other DD's you will be equally satisfied so I would say flip a coin and run with it....

Well the dd is ugly as *** and has a high fs of 40 while the jl is a good looking sub with a fs of 26

I'd honestly go with the JL with this one. That DD is fugly lol!

It will be covered up as possible. Performance matters more than looks but I do agree.
