Why are you even bothering to answer him?Magnet thickness has extremely little to do with motor force. In fact, for a given amount of magnet material, you're better off making it as wide and thin as possible. Doubling the thickness of the magnet MAY get you 5-6% more motor force, if you're lucky... It just doesn't pay off to make them thick in the hopes of a stronger motor.
Thick magnets are used for two reasons: internal clearance (cheaper to use than steel) so the voice coil doesn't bang on the back plate, and looks.
