The dyno video of the sfb says i would need a 270 amp alternator and one strong battery. It draws 260 on 1 ohm load. But it drew 350 on the 1.3ohm load. So maybe I just need to upgrade the alternator?

Being that I have a second battery can I get away with just a 250 amp alternator?

That pioneer deq unit is probably going to be the closest thing to a unit with de-equalization as far as options in that price range. A 2019 higher end model vehicle will for sure have factory equalization. New alt and clean signal and you should be closer to realizing full potential of that amp.

How long into playing music does it go into clipping? I'm surprised that nobody hasn't encouraged you to do the big three.

It clips immediately. It will keep playing but the clip light on the amp just keeps flickering when the bass hits

Something cheap you can try in the meantime, if your phone has an aux port, is an aux 3.5mm to RCA cable. You can buy one on amazon or maybe at bestbuy for cheap and then play music or tones on your phone and see if it's louder. If it's not louder before it clips you're just not getting enough output out of the amp or it's not enough electrical.

I'd offer to scope your headunit and amp for you but I'm on the opposite side of the state by VT. If you want to make a trip out maybe but that's a long drive

You do understand that people have lives and we don't get paid to help on here right? Not so easy without having the vehicle in person.

You want an instant answer take it to a shop and pay them $100 an hour to diagnose.
