i recently bought a hyundia elantra and it had a pioneer p33 cd playere in it. i installed 2 rockford p1 12's and a rockford 2502 amp.. alright heres my problems i am havign trouble getting it to sound good i can either set it up with font and rear speakers which just throws teh subs in too but when i turn it up the rear speakers distort. or i can just do front and subs but i loose alot of sound from not usign the 6x9's. just curious if theres anyway to adjust everythign separtly or what... also what does the fequency setting on the amp do and the lp ap hp switch? any help woudl be appreciated im new to this stuff thanks robert

Okay, I think the reason your rears distort is because you are sending them bass tones and are turning it up too loud. Most car audio systems are set up as front stage only, and rear is all bass. So, if I were you, just remove the 6x9's, I did it in my car and was a lot happier with the sound. I am not familiar with that HU, but with my Panasonic there is a LPF and HPF, so you can filter out bass tones from the in-cabin speakers, if not you could get some cheap bass blockers at Best Buy or something... I would remove them though.

As for the amp setting, for the subs, you would set it to LPF and set the dial to around 60-70Hz, within this margin you will be fine.

Good luck with the new car man.
