setup for best double bass pedal sounds?

I have a profile mono amp, 220 rms @ 4 ohms, 350 rms @ 2 ohms. currently i have a 8 inch dvc bazooka tube but its no longer enough bass for me. i mainly listen to hardcore and metal music. i want either one 10 or one 12, a 4 ohm dvc sub with between 300 and 400 rms. would a 350 rms 10 in sub sound better than a 350 rms 12 because of faster response? also would a ported or sealed box be better for tighter bass? im assuming sealed

a DD 10 or 15 series 10 would do what you want real nice. they come in s4 or d4.

pair it with a nice DD amp and you should love it. They also offer loaded Enclosures.

What car is it going in?

we had two 2512's on our display that could handle Dream Theater we ease in a DD spec ported box.

I have 4 Memphis Street Edge 12's in my car they are loaded real heavy by being very close to the top of the truck and knock out double bass great.

Yes, the DD2500s are amazingly quick and accurate in the right box. They are my go-to sub for punchy bass.

What kind of midbass drivers are you running?? A seamless blend between high quality midbass drivers properly installed and a high quality sub properly installed will give you what you are looking for. I listen to tons of death metal and top notch midbass drivers made all the difference.

The problem with "two" 10's is you're doubling the moving mass of your effective woofer. If you want to keep it light, you need to sick to just one 10 or just one 8. When you add another, you're adding twice the moving mass and cone area making the pair of 10's actually work like a single woofer that's twice as heavy with a cone twice as large, twice the BL^2/Re and twice the stiffness. In other words, its like a 13" - and of course that's not what you want anymore!

:O

in that case, my 13w7 used to sound amazing whenever i would play anything with dbp...and i play a lot!

I listen to a lot of hardcore, heavy metal and other music with dbp, the 13w7 is a great sub, i dont care what anybody on here says. it is just overpriced, but you might be able to find a 10 or 8 w7 for around 200

i still want to keep the amp i have (350 rms @ 2 ohms) so i need something a little less power hungry than w7's...are the jl's at the lower price ranges comparable to other options at that level? i was looking at a 10 or 12 polk mm sub and have also heard boston acoustic subs are good for accurate bass. basically i want to feel the dbp punches without it getting muddy. again im assuming sealed enclosures would help this?
