Do I still need to set my gain or can I turn it up all the way without it clipping since the sub can handle the 2500.

Nope. Gain is there to match your source output ONLY!

Clipping is when the amp gets overdriven and clips the top of the waveform. It can damage the sub and overheat the amp. It has nothing to do with the subs power handling.

Agreed! Not too mention what subwoofers and amplifier. Because if it is a Boss or something along those lines no way will that amplifier put out 2,500 watts.

Umm okay, idk what you said to me that had to be completely edited out. Just a statement is all and a fact. Those amplifiers do not put out what they claim in RMS maybe a 1/3 of that if you are lucky.
