hey

how do you set precise gains on your amp, i know the whole routine but is there any more when setting gains so that you can get them correct.

when setting gains for a sub what kind of test frequencies should i use to set gains, and what does the frequency control do on the amp and were about should it be set to on my directed 1500d which is powering a kicker L7 15" with 800watt rms

thanks for the help

frequency control is where the crossover filters notes above the set number at the predefined slope. set it around 80 hz, and increase it or decrease it depending on the install

As far as test tones go, you use tones in the frequency range that the amp will be playing. There are otehr ways to set gains other than the one described in the tutorial but that method is the best balance between precision/clipping prevention and equipment required.
i find it realy difficult trying to hear distortion when playing a song, and i need to set the gains for my kicker L7 15" so is it possible to use a 80 hz test tone so that i can get the gain set, will that mean i should set the frequency on the amp to 80hz aswel
