Setting gains with oscilliscope

i just called 4 other car audio shops and none of them knew what a oscilliscope is... and 3 of them barely spoke english and answered the phone saying "yea" or "hello"

 
yea the guy i talked to seemed to know what he was doing installation wise... he was a older guy and seemed pretty knowledgeable about installs. I just cant justify 65 bucks though.

And this guy had never heard of sundown, Fi, or Re and considered them smaller companies that he wouldnt trust because they havent been around as long as alpine //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Do you have an O-scope or are you saying you'll set it by ear for free?

If you have a scope where in IL are you?
