Setting gains.. Little help..

When i set my gains do i put the BASS from HU all the way UP and than set the gains from the amp?

Or do i set the gains from amp and use the headunit BASS to level it out?

Any input will be nice.

You talkin about setting gains for your subs? What kind of HU do you have?

The bass level usually doesn't affect the subs, just the front and rears. Your sub-out setting affects the pre-out level to the sub(s). Set your gains with the sub-out turned up, EQ set flat, bass=0, loud off and volume around 75% of your HU's max volume (maybe higher depending on HU). Then set your gains on the amp, hopefully with a DMM.

On every HU I've ever seen the bass control affects all the outputs including the sub. If you plan on turning the bass control up at any point, set the gain with it turned up, but having the gain set properly should eliminate any "gain" from the use of the bass control.
