set the gains correctly for my amp but strange discovery

I've got a kenwood KAC-8452 amp folks and ch1 and ch2 have my front compos hooked on. I've used the multimeter to set my gains and according to calculations I'm supposed to set the gain so that 14.1 volts is displayed on my DMM. I've done that and when I use the probes on channel 1 it displays 14.1 volts correctly. When I did the same with channel 2 it displays 13.5 volts . Does that mean one of my RCA is bad? I've used a cheap brand so wondering if that is the reason for this weird reading. It should be reading 14.1 volts right?

yeah the balance is flat. I'll look at the voltage at the end of the RCAs today. Thanks for the clarification.

ive been told that the right channels are almost always slightly higher voltage than the left in nearly all setups, and is more prevalent in home audio systems.
