Series vs. Parallel

Is there any differences between series or parallel? Or does it even matter? cuz im thinking of getting a dual 2ohm sub and wire it in series so i can put a 4ohm load in my pgx600.1 amp since its most efficient at 4ohms.

Series and parallel don't change the sound quality or anything like that. It just changes the resistance, which will alter how much power goes to your subs. Using your dual 2 ohm sub, parallel would give you a resistance of 1 ohm and series would give 4 ohms. 1 ohm will get more power from the amp, but is your amp stable at this resistance?. If it's not (and you said 4 ohms most efficient), then go with series and a 4 ohm load.

Series and parallel don't change the sound quality or anything like that.

Just to be warned, there will be some who say resistance does affect SQ. This is only the case on paper. Never, will the average consumer notice any differnce in SQ when changing the resistance of the system though.

k...cuz my amp can handle 1ohm , 2ohm and 4ohm...but most efficient at 4ohm..

so i should go with the dual 2 ohm and put it in series?

lower ohms = lower voltage = lower sq = will u notice? = doubt it.
