Self discharge after installing kinetik battery

So, I had a Kinetik battery installed in the back of the vehicle. There is properly fused 0gauge running to it from the battery under the hood, and there a 0gauge ground from back battery to frame. Everything was fine first few days, but after leaving the car parked and off for a few days, I noticed the battery under hood was being drained, to the point I needed to jump the vehicle off to get it started.

I drove it about 15 minutes, and it seems alternator charged it up, because I let it cool down for 8 hours and re started it. It was a slow start, but started none the less. So I believe my battery and alternator are good, but some type of self discharging going on when the car is off.

Any ideas how to counteract this?

a bigger battery will charge off the small battery but with both batts your car should be starting up better. did you buy that battery new? go to your local auto store and get both batts checked. that would be my first step

Yes, Kinetik is brand new. I planned to go to get them both checked this evening, but I have a funny feeling it has more to do with a self discharge occurring when the car is off. Thanks for the advice & reply.

have you checked over the rest of the install that he shop just did
I did, and after re-doing the 4gauge to 0 in the rear (battery to amp, and - to ground amp), everything else looked solid. I cleaned up the ground point, and called it a day. It's like the battery under hood is draining due to maintaining certain things when the car is powered off?

I'd disconnect both batts. Check them individually. Sounds like one is bad

No problem since it worked fine before I'd be more to believe the kinetic battery is bad and drawing power from the stock battery It may have been completely dead.
Ok, so the car had been sitting off for 6-7 hours. I left them connected, and got the readings while they were resting:

Kinetik 1400HC - 11.5V

NAPA THE LEGENDS 75 - 11.8V

Then, I disconnected the Kinetik in the back and got two more readings...

Kinetik - 11.9 - 12V totally disconnected

Napa - 9.9-10V, Although I let it sit on there for about 3 mins and it jumped to 10.2v

When I opened the door and interior lights came on, Napa dropped again to 9.8v.

Of course the car wouldn't start at 9.8v, so I jumped it off, and it was running at start 14.4v. I let it charge for 3-4 mins and cut off the car. Napa was then reading at 12.6V.

I'm going to let it sit and cool down, and go and get another reading, but I believe what may have happened was the Kinetik was dead, charged off of the NAPA, and ruined a cell in the NAPA maybe?

So, if it is the NAPA,(Like I assume it is) Should I replace with another Kinetik, or will a yellow top be ok? Or just as good rather?

Charge both batteries on a charger. Then load test each if the kinetik was to low then it may be bad as well it's prolly an older battery. Been sitting for a while in the shelf

Will do. Also, correcting myself, as long as the min reading was at or above 9.6V, the car is supposed to start, however, mine did not.
