Second battery size question

This is my problem. I don't have alot of room to work with and I want to change my cap for a second battery. So my question is even if its a small battery like a kinetic 800 is it still better than the cap or is that battery to small. I'm running around 2500 watts.

That’s what size your amps are but that does not mean they are putting out anywhere near that much power. Your impedance and imp rise + voltage going in is going to tell you

You need to know how much power you are using in order to know what size alternator and battery you should have. Otherwise you are just guessing and buying things that won’t help. What size amplifiers you have means nothing with out knowing impedance and how imp raise you have.

Also what kind of car do you have? Depending on the car it may be necessary to up your alt if you're truly running 2500+ rms
If your system is drawing any power from your battery you need to upgrade your alternator. While the vehicle is running the system gets it's power from the alternator, it's only when the alternator cannot keep up with current draw (very very bad for a system) that the system draws on the battery. A battery is a buffer zone not a long term power supply.

I've seen you post about this before and you seem to think batteries are not important at all. Before upgrading my batteries my voltage dropped to 11.7-11.9ish, after upgrading my front battery and adding one for the back I'm running close to 3000w RMS without dropping below 14v. Yes if I play this for a long period of time it's POSSIBLE I may drop lower, however simple bass hits will not make my car look like a christmas tree.

Yes the alternator is important, but batteries are equally important.

I'm running close to 3000w RMS like I said, and I'm only on a 135-140amp alt, with the big 3 and 2 batteries.
