Search sucks - Need 5 channel amp

The terms channel & amp are to frequently used and as such arent' allowed. Leaving me only being able to search 5. Which could mean 5 subs, 5 types of amps,//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif..right

I'm looking for a good, 5 channel amp. Or maybe I should tell you power wise what i'm looking for

75 x2RMS @ 4ohm stereo

100x2RMS @ 4ohm stereo

**At least there didn't used to be uneven power on 4 of the channels but that's what I need, rather than what I expect the amp to have.

~175-250RMS x 1 @ 4ohm stereo or 2ohm mono

That would be good power for a SQ sub right? I'm not looking to destroy the block, just come in under my JL 8s in the rear deck. Possibly to power a JL 12W6

I have a very nice 6 ch...ZED Audio made amp...Top notch SQ and a very nice crossover section built in....The rear ch's can be bridged into 2 ohm mono....

I kinda get the thing that people are scared of JL, maybe a JL solution is what I'm thinking of. Holla'

I thought that amps used to be able to run in mixed mode?? Meaning a 4 could run as a 5.

I thought this would work...but the rear channels are only 25watts...

I have a very nice 6 ch...ZED Audio made amp...Top notch SQ and a very nice crossover section built in....The rear ch's can be bridged into 2 ohm mono....

they don't sell them on woofersetc?

I wish they still made multi ch amps like they did back in the day...And you could buy them there //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It is a night and day difference in SQ of the newer amps over the quality of the older amps....They don't make them like they use to....American made amps were some of the cleanest ever made...back in the late 80's and early 90's .....

Very nice - looking for that kind of power @ 4 ohm stereo rms...pretty much exactly what i'm looking for. The price is easy & the distortion is low - I'm assuming that is for the A/B portion of the amp. I was under the impression that a class D amp was much noisier.

Ahh, yeah that's where I'm coming from. Around 94-96 I was into this scene. The best amp I ever had was a Orion 2150SX (black ~24" long) and Soundstream and US amps had all of the crazy mixed mode operations. I remember some silver soundstream called the tarantula. Class Ds were coming on as I was getting out. So, aside from memories I'm kind stabbin in the dark on what I need.

I'm running a JL ZR 5 1/4 set in the kicks with a (proposed) dynadio 7" midbase @ tweet in the door. Plus I'm looking to power a sub.

Any thoughts.

The cool thing is I could finally afford a Zapco (Which was the shizzle 10 years ago) amp if I wanted too...

Just to frame it up I'm 28. When I was super into car audio the first Impala (Caprice Classic Variant) came out. Some guy had a pimped out one with ....18s, and they were bragging that the tires were custom made 'rubber bands'. It had Zapco's & 2 18s in plexi with image dynamics horns. Probably something that sounded great on an RTA machine...but if horns sound anything like an old MB Quartz component (that also was supposed to sound good on an RTA Machine) I'll pass.

I use to have that same amp and I loved it also....I remember one setup I did in an older Mustang....It had the 2150 SX in the middle and I had a little 220 GT on each side of it ...I had each 220 GT bridged one for Left and Right ch. i have a like new hifonics zxi8006 5 channel amp. does 55x4@4 +200x1. also does 110x4@2+300x1. comes w/ bass knob and cable.........$125 shipped
