my sub keeps breaking and pushing screws out of the enclosure..just the ones screwed into the sub. their 2 1/4 inch drywall screws anyone know a bettter way to keep this thing in if not i'm just goin to build a new box with the sub up

See the gold ring around the screw.... why didnt AQ just make it part of the frame of the basket like every other sub!!!... gold ring broke on one hole...now I need to put a washer in there for it to mount down!

using T-nuts has it's ups and downs. i had downs with using T-nuts.

one situation of mine was that the t-nut was anchored into the wood properly, but then when i had to remove the t-nut the back side either came off the wood and spun freely or the wood itself stripped and allowed the nut to spin freely.

of course you can add a litte bit of glue to the t-nut in order to have the nut secured to the wood and not allow it to release itself, well, what happens is if you apply too much down pressure onto the screw while screwing it in or taking it out you can actually rip a patch of MDF off with the t-nut being glued to it and then letting it spin freely again.

i've had all these problems with T-nuts. i basically stopped using them and just use drywall screws. i predrill small holes then hand screw in the screws to prevent wood stripping.

honestly i have always used drywall screws too lol, never had a problem

also - I suguest to people on here to use allen head screws.

you dont have to apply so much downward preassure on them for a good

secure torque to them. phillips head = you have to push down a ton in order to

not strip the heads out. allen head screws = win.
