What types of proof do you have on them then? Same way...

Oh ya know..records of Columbus from many different sources, famed discoveries of new continents..that sort of thing. Hell even paintings. Jesus once again..has a book.

I'm not saying Jesus didn't exist, I'm saying you believe it a bit too blindly IMO.

Jesus also has a very different life, depending on which story/religion you're referencing.

"According to Islam, Jesus never died on the cross, nor ever wanted to die on the cross, nor ever was born to die on the cross. Muslims believe that Jesus was sentenced to death, and people thought that he got executed on the cross. The Holy Quran rejects this idea, and claims that it is a false one. Jesus never died on the cross, nor he ever died for anyone's sins."

You can still believen in evolution and still believen in christ. It is proven fact that evolution is real, also christ was real. So you can go both ways. And if the universe was created by dust, what created dust? This conversation keeps going and going. It all falls in to two options. Faith or no Faith, Believen in or not to believe. Either way you still believen in something.
Evolution isn't a proven fact. It's a rigorously tested scientific theory.

That's a double-edged sword. What created god? You think he was just there?
Well then they'll say that god is beyond time/space/matter(how convenient). But if god isn't made of matter, then how did things just appear? Like how they like to say about the big bang theory, "you can't have something come from nothing," same thing applies to god in this situation. Trying to avoid the first cause argument by saying that god is not physical, in some way, totally falls in the same boat for their argument against the big bang theory.

Typical religious hypocrisy.

I just want to know what this "believen" thing you speak of is?

it did not advance our understanding of gravity, but I personally believe its commandments as well as various ethical lessons are good to live by. but that's of course my personal belief
So you would agree with Exodus 21:7 saying that it is ok to sell your daughter into slavery? What about Exodus 35:2 saying that anyone working on the sabbath should be put to death? Corinthians 11:14 "Does not the very nature of things teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him," (Didn't Jesus have long hair?)

How about this one?

Leviticus 21:9

"And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the *****, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire."

Leviticus 20:15-16

" 'If a man has ****** relations with an animal, he must be put to death, and you must kill the animal.

" 'If a woman approaches an animal to have ****** relations with it, kill both the woman and the animal. They must be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

(Haha how you like that PETA? God condones the killing of animals)

Leviticus 20:27

" 'A man or woman who is a medium or spiritist among you must be put to death. You are to stone them; their blood will be on their own heads.' "

Funny how the sixth commandment says "'You shall not murder" but yet the Bible tells one anther to kill those who are not pure. Looks to me that the Bible is such a good source for morals and wasys by which to live your life.

xMOTHERFUCKING TWO!!!

Well, I believe I explained the dust part with the quantum fluctuations.
I disagree that it has been proven that Christ is real, at the very least not as described in the bible.
Actually the big bang, IIRC, only created hydrogen.

Stars are only made of hydrogen. When they explode, they become different elements such as helium, iron, blah blah blah. These elements are what create the planets because they send out debris. These collide with other big debris and start to create planets.

To create these elements, when the stars explode, their hydrogen atoms start fusing together. The longer they're fusing, the higher number in the periodic table they'll get. This is why oxygen, iron, silicone, and other low numbered elements are so much more abundant than higher ones. You will never find an all gold planet cuz it's extremely unlikely that a planet got bombarded with only gold particles.

It should be without explanation that religious people tend to pick and choose what they want to follow and believe in. Also, Christians love to totally dismiss the old testament because of all of the bad things in it(like you listed). If that's what they want to do, then the whole creationist point it moot since it happens in the old testament(which of course is the whole story behind Christianity, god created everything and looks over us)...I mean, can you really get any more *** backwards than that?

I guess what they really want to say is "I want to pick and choose what is correct and incorrect within the old testament in order to fit my own needs/beliefs/arguments."

But none of us now was around when Jesus was here or even when columbus was here. So if you go that route you cant beleive anything. So instead of argueing about these thing, people are people and will believe what they want. Its just the promises in the bible, specifically John that makes me believe. But once again thats my choice and someone that doesnt want to believe it, wont, so be it.

I do understand what your saying, but to me a Christian is someone that believes in Christ. Now there is 5 million different types of Christians, weither they only believe in Christ with nothing to back it up to the guy that studies old and new testaments and believes and knows it all. Wish all Christians represented well and were the same, but there not, but then again neither is Buddhists, Nazis, or Atheists for that matter. Just my .02, not that it matters, there will always be many to argue with me and everyone else.
