is what my mechanic told me. I brought it in cause of the check engine light and the fact I was low on ****** fluid. He said that it turns out that several cylinders are misfiring and I have a ****** and engine leak and the heads need to be completely redone or something along the lines of that. And I will also need to have my exhaust system worked on evetually to pass smog because last year one or several of my catalytic converters blew out.

It runs atleast. But I guess I need to go used car hunting. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

Im no good when it comes to engine or car work in general. I trust my mechanic fully. Everyone in my family has been going to him for years and he's a great guy. If he says its not worth it, I have to believe him.

this thread = fail
from your first post, you are talking about less than $300 for exhaust, less than $200 in gaskets to fix the leaks and less than $100 to fix the miss-fire.
My car is only worth like 500 bucks at most. And its been in the shop alot for various issues.

Well the guy that just broke it down into cost is retarded, if you need a new exhaust WITH cat's, its over $500, and $100 to fix the missfire?? You have no idea whats wrong with it....

Go buy a civic 92-00, so easy and cheap to work on

The problem with that is you will be working on it. I owned a 92 Civic and I spent more trying to keep that POS on the road for 2 years than I have spent on my truck in 17 years. It even had less mileage than my truck.

I never got the exhaust issue fixed. Its ***** my fuel economy. Atleast it contributed after it blew out. I get abhout 310 miles to a tank. Tank is 16 gallons.
