Saw this at a buddies last night

It's a 18" solobarix looks like. He'll sell it for $50 but it's been sitting for years in a garage on the floor through cold long Chicago winters and hot humid days. Do you guys think it'll be ready to go or will it need new voice coil?

i don't like them but if u can rebuild stuff have at it, i wouldn't pay to get it fixed when u can get a nice 15 for under $200

I would grab it, especially for $50. Tell him $40. I can recall FixMySpeaker has built a few very nice subs using the motor.

Dont know. Check it and see.

Use a mulitmeter and check the resistance on the terminals. If they are good its fine, if not check the leads, if leads look fine then probably coil is toast

Id be worried about rust...

But just the motor is worth well over 50$

You cant lose on this deal. Motor is worth about 200 dollars. I highly doubt it doesnt need a recone and you can always get it reconed. PSI has built some nasty woofers with that motor and a Ti Basket.

I admit I don't know - anyone know the RMS and impedance on this thing ?? No specs on the sub so I'm clueless
