OK guys so simple question. I currently have a rf power hx2 in a sealed box built to specs and I want it louder. I'm thinking about getting either a 12" built to ported specs or try and recone a 15" RF power hx2 and put it in a sealed box. I have an impala and I don't want to give my trunk up by going ported with the 15.

I guess my question is i'm using an old sundown saz-1000 at 1 ohm. So what application would get me loudest, i listen to a lot of Hop-Hop.

Second question: I never reconed a subwoofer and I want to give it a shot. My 15 is a dual 4, can I order a dual 2 ohm voice coil kit and so i can run it at 1 ohm on my amp.

2.25-2.5 net. 13-14" port per cube. He should be able to work with that.......

Yeah I wanted to try something different I had one shop swear sealed would get louder with my hx2.

I guess I'll go ported with the 12 and save the 15 since it won't get louder in a sealed application

I had a single 12 sealed. I eventually went ported and I'm never going back to sealed. It's not that its bad, it's just not what i'm looking for. Sealed will make your music sound a little more full. Ported is just another world. I want to feel bass.

I've ran single 12" setups for years. My current enclosure and subwoofer models with a hefty 6.6 dB peak at 43 Hz on 900W, which is never ever going to happen with a sealed enclosure, the same sub on the same amount of power. It's stupidly efficient by comparison.

Ok thanks for input guys I think I'll ditch the 15 sealed idea since it sounds like I can get louder off the 12

I'm going to go off the hx2 ported specs and check around for other specs
