Sad Sad day in car audio

Yesterday... after 2.5 years of long hard work powering multiple system setups the hifonics bx1000d died of old age..... it emitted the magic smoke.... this is BY FAR one of the most reliable amps i have ever owned and im sad to see it go.... not sure why it blew, but no electronic device can live forever...//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

yea thats not all that old for a really good quality amp that you should love and be sad to see it leave.

2 and a half years isnt very old.
i have an 89 punch 75 in working order.
My US amp is about 8 years old...
The 4ch I'm currently using is a '97 model..I don't know what year my original Punch 150 was made...and the Orion 222 SX I acquired recently certainly isn't new. 2.5 years isn't very old at all as far as amps go. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif Sorry for your loss ~ R.I.P.

2.5 years? I'd be pissed.

My Art Series amps are older than dirt. If/when they give me any trouble, I have them fixed. Never had them smoke on me though.

Old-school, non-DEI PPI = teh hotness //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I'd get 'em fixed to if I had any.

I have had each one of them sent in once, all in the last two years. First two were shipped and fixed for around $75 each by some dude that my local car audio shop uses. This last one he couldn't fix, so we sent it to the company and I paid a but more than that. DEI actually offered me to trade all three in and pay $275 each for their new equivalent amps (600 watts). No thanks!
