SA12 and...

You'll hear a huge difference going in a proper ported box.. You won't regret it.. CSCStang has very reasonable prices and does great work.. I can't recommend him enough. PM him for a quote since you live far
Roughly $200 for a ported from him.. I'm still new to car audio so not sure if that's a great deal but it seems reasonable.

i have that same amp and its a beast @ 1 ohm..going to be upgrading to a 1600 rub to power a xcon 10 very soon.ive had my 1000 for a couple of years now and never had it just barely warm.
Would you be willing to sell me the amp? And would both of your recommend that amp over the soundqubed? It's a $100 cheaper and I am on a budget.

never had a SQ so i couldnt say on that.no i wont be selling it.im going to keep it for back up. just go on ebay and get one for around 150 shipped if you dont get the sq.damping factor on the rub 1000 is 250 and 105 signal to ratio.it makes my d6 sing and sound good doing it.the ss rubs are overlooked a lot of the times but i have no complaints.just because it isnt a $500 amp doesnt mean it isnt any good lol..it is a little bit of a current hog though.had to put a big agm under the hood but i also have an under drive light weight crank pulley

should try one of the big name amps. I know that after going from two brx 2400.1s, I thought it was hitting great until i hooked up my DC 3.5k. Even at very low volumes, massive sound quality and loudness difference, not even comparable lol. I know the rubicon 2500.1 and one of the older brutus models share the same board. If you can, save up for a used korean board amp. My electrical is also a lot less stressed. Does not even drop close to as much as the brxs. I used to think power is power but sh*t that was proven wrong real quick lol.

what would you suggest for 1500 rms @ 1ohm then ? dont say sundown lol....SQ2200 ? or a DC 2.0 ?
if you can get dc for cheap, go with that, it does rated on certified dyno tests and does a lot more than rated on dynamic. If not then go with a used sq 2200.1, there is one on soundqubed only (group on facebook) thats selling for 275 shipped.

An alpine to piwer that sa 12 will be expensive so dont listen to that guy^^^A soundqubed 1200 would be spmething id get. Or something used from the classified stuff always pops up. But make sure you get a d2 sub so you can wire to 1ohm. But yes a sa 12 belongs in a custom ported box not just any pre fab, any sub in reality belongs in a custom box. Which will run you around $200 iif shipped to you
The SQ 1200 would be a good pick I concur.

You guys really should look more into what you are really getting with the rubicon. I'm not going to bash but you are not getting what you think you are. Soundstream was once the most desirable amp to have and expensive. There is a reason they are so cheap now

lol.the only reason why i bought mine two years ago cause i was extremely limited on space in that 370z i used to have.since i bought this truck,im now getting back into audio and the rub has been doing great.no matter, guess i will step up to a better amp even though this amp puts out.might be getting a used skar sk1500.1 for 325

thanks but im not going to drop down under 100 S/N. either a DC 2.0 or SQ 2200 depending on price and efficiency of either one.well maybe 90 S/N on the SQ
Trust me, the S/N ratio is the last thing you should look for. Korean amps have a much lower real life S/N ratio than cheap chinese crap with false specs. Might as well say you arent going under 80% efficiency but the amps you buy claim 80% but in real life they are only 40% efficient at best.

If you already didn't know I'll say it again. Soundstream is owned by Elipsion now. Elipsion's major product line, big money maker is Power Acustik.

If you look at specs on a PA amp would you believe what was listed?

You will find PA, PPI, and SS amps that share a price bracket and share similar specs.

I hope that makes sense, I didn't want to bash
