SA12 and...

Roughly $200 for a ported from him.. I'm still new to car audio so not sure if that's a great deal but it seems reasonable.
Would you be willing to sell me the amp? And would both of your recommend that amp over the soundqubed? It's a $100 cheaper and I am on a budget.
$200 shipped to you is actually not bad at all.. I bet if you walk into any store near your area, it'll all be more expensive than that. Even some ported prefab cost about that much but custom ported is where it's at. Nothing better than a custom box made for the sub. It will sound better than any random prefab box you can buy online.

I bought the Rubicon 1000d because of it being inexpensive, small size, 1000x1 @ 1 ohm, and having good reviews. Say what you want, but it does plenty for its $150 price tag and I have had absolutely no issues with it.

yeah man i totally agree.some may call it chinese junk but isnt sundown made in china ? LOL

Not the amps no.
When ever you replace it with a solid 1000 you will be on here saying it's junk just like all the others with the rubby 2500
At the $129 price tag, I'm ok with that. It is enough and meets my expectations.

I really hope that a $500 1000x1 amp would sound better than a $129 1000x1 amp. Just saying

i plan on buying a skar sk1500 off a guy on ebay to power a xcon so we will see....IMO this rubicon 1000 is a helluva lot better then that kicker zx1000 i had few years back.dirty amp

I appreciate all the replies from you guys.. Considering I'm on a budget I'll most likely go with the sound stream or maybe the massive audio n3. I realize the sound stream may not be as high of quality but people seem to be having good reviews.. Unless there's another amp out there for under $200 the sound stream seems like a decent choice for $135 and this will be my first sub setup ever.

I used to think like you man lol. Wait till you try a sundown, dc, dd, skar, b2, flatlyne, incriminator amp. I thought power was just power but shiiiit i didnt know how worlds apart these amps really were from budget brands like hifonics, soundstream etc. This is comming from a guy that ran lots of hifonics, sound stream and ppi with great electricals

budget brands have their place and is fine for budget use, but if you can get a good deal used for quality, its definitely worth every penny. literally louder, better sounding less current draw and overall clean heavy pounding power. Yes there is a HUGE sound difference.

subs are, amp boards are assembled in korea.

Apple is made in china

There's high end china and there's quick profit budget China.

Whatever the shots the american CEOs call/budget they put out will determine production line quality in china. Cutting corners is not determined by the chinese, its determined by the cheap american corporate D-bags.

I hear what you're saying, but give the amp some credit. For $130 it is a good amp. Nobody is claiming it has superior current draw or build quality. For an amp in its category and at its price range it is a great buy. It drives my single SA12 beyond what I need and expected in a sealed box, and after an hour+ of pounding its cool at room temperature. For a budget amp, if you want to call it that, its probably one of the best in its class.
