Sa-8 ported enclosure ?

THIS IS MY CALCULATIONS....

1.5cu.ft Tuned to 35Hz

Subs will most likely be powered by a POWERBASS SA1000.1D

Subs are DVC 4ohm wired to 1 ohm

This will be in a daily driver, but would like them to get low as they can while still sounding good with Rock as well

.6 @ 35 hz is the recommended enclosure. you're over double that... 1.5 might be ok for 2 SA8s. But Sundown suggests no larger than .6 for any amount of power.

Yeah, he's going with 2 8's. That 1.5 will work, but careful on the amount of power you put to them.

The powerbass amp states 1000rms @ 1ohm is this about right. I checked review on the amp, and found mostly good reviews

I got that after rereading the original post...but its still on the large side. Possible get away with it on RMS power. But it has been said many times by the owner no larger than .6 is recommended.

Is this enclosure too big/small for (2) SA-8 subs with 1000 watts powering them.

Would anyone recommend a higher/lower tuned enclosure?

Talk to RAM Designs about an enclosure design. That powerbass amp should be just right for power. Never heard anything bad about PB amps.

Perhaps you should go to the Sundown site and read...Jacob recommends 0.6 to 1.1 ported per driver.

With that said, 1.5 should be perfect for a pair of them.

im sure 1.2 tune to 32 would b great after sub and port displacement.. cuz op wants to throw more power to the subs then rated mayb a tad smaller box would work for him, u wana do a slot port?

u should try a areo or sono tube. areo/sono better for numbers and u will move more air. ram helped me with a box for one 8 tune to 30 . its .6 and has a slot port u should ask him for help.
